You must have heard previously that staying up late at night and stress can cause dark circles under the eyes. However, the truth may surprise you. While fatigue and working late at night can trigger the condition, dark circles under the eyes are often the result of nasal jamming, according to experts.

You may be astounded to hear that fatigue usually isn’t the cause of dark circles. Instead, the most common cause is nasal congestion. When your nose is blocked, veins that usually drain from your eyes into your nose become widened and dilated and also appears darker. Swelling of eyelid during sleep is another universal cause. When you lie down, fluid collects in your lower eyelids because of gravitation force. As the eyelids swell, this may create the appearance of shadows or dark circles under your eyes.

In most cases, the condition is brief and can be prevented if tackled effectively. This involves taking proper rest, avoid smoking, sleeping early. You can also go for eye cream as they are the best means to get relief from dark circles in less time.
